Swamy temple at Sringeri on Subrahmanya Shashthi
Sri Subrahmanya Shashthi was celebrated on 3rd December 2008. Pavamana Abhisheka and Rudra Abhisheka was performed at the shrine of Sri Balasubrahmanyaswamy at Sringeri. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji arrived at the temple in the evening and Deepotsava took place in His Divine presence. Numbering a hundred, Vidyarthis and Pandits of the Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala chanted Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada’s composition Sri Subrahmanya Bhujanga Stotram. Earlier, Deepotsava was also held in the Subrahmanyaswamy temple in the Sacchidanandapura Agrahara of Sringeri in the Jagadguru’s presence.
