Jagadguru visits Mangalore
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji started from Sringeri and reached Mangalore on 7th January evening and inaugurated Sri Chandramoulishwara Dhyana Mandira at Shakti Nagar, Mangalore.

On 8th January, the Jagadguru had Darshan at Sri Radhakrishna temple and inaugurated Sri Radhakrishna Kalyana Mantapa.

In His Anugraha Bhashanam, the Mahaswamiji extolled the human birth and called for greater adherence to Dharma. Eventhough Dharma can be adhered to only by humans, most people live their lives without adhering to Dharma. People want happiness but do not adhere to the means to it. People wish to stay away from sorrow and worries but engage in all kinds of activities that lead to these. The Anushaasana Parva in the Mahabharata talks about how many births will go past before we get another human birth, if we commit certain sins. When people read this, they will feel that such sins are never to be indulged in. However, that conviction disappears as soon as the book is closed. Sri Shankara Bhagavatpada says this is because there is a wrong understanding of “Svaartha” - that which is good for one’s own self. The Mahaswamiji blessed the audience and stressed that the spiritual tradition of India has to be remembered and upheld by all.
The Jagadguru also graced the 10th anniversary celebrations of Sarojini Madhusudana School and returned to Sringeri by 8th evening.
