Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam at Kollur
With the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam had been launched in November 2009 on Gita Jayanti.
The 3-day first stage of the Abhiyaanam was conducted by the Peetham from December 25th to December 27th 2009 at the Kollur, the abode of Goddess Mookambika. About 70 people attended the event that focuses on developing Upanyasakas to spread Advaita Vedanta with emphasis on Sri Adishankara Bhagavatpada’s works. The Peetham’s CEO and Administrator, Sri V R Gowrishankar in his valedictory address conveyed the Blessings of the Jagadguru to the participants and informed that intense study and preparation was needed to become an Upanyasaka. Dr. H V Narasimhamurti, Dharmadhikari of Sringeri Shankara Math, Shikharipura chaired the event. Program co-ordinator, Prof. Shikarupura Krishnamurti informed that the next event would be conducted in February 2010 in Bangalore.
