Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji undertook a 11-day camp to tour the districts of Mandya and Mysore. The Mahaswamiji started from Sringeri on 17th June and halted at Chikmagalur to perform the Sharada Chandramoulishwara Puja. The following day (June 18th), after blessing the assembled devotees, the Mahaswamiji travelled to K R Nagar and arrived at Sri Yogananda Saraswati Math, Yadathore where He was reverentially welcomed by the Mathadhipati Sri Shankara Bharati Swamiji. The Jagadguru Mahaswamiji then blessed the assembly with an Anugraha Bhashanam. On June 19th, Pada Puja and Bhiksha Vandanam was offered to the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji at the Math by the Swamiji and the Shishyas. In the evening, the Mahaswamiji travelled to Mandya to grace the Vajra Mahotsava (diamond jubilee) of Sri Vidya Ganapati temple at Mandya. On June 20th, the Mahaswamiji performed the Puna-prathishtha Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Vidya Ganapati.

The Mahaswamiji travelled from Mandya to Japada Katte the same evening. The following day the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji performed the Puna Prathishta Kumbhabhisheka at the recently renovated temple of Sri Japyeshwara on the banks of the River Cauvery. The Mahaswamiji also graced the Poornahuti of the Maharudra Homa conducted on the occasion. Sri Shankara Bharati Swamiji of Yadathore Yogananada Saraswati Math was present during the occasion. The Karnataka Governor, H.E. Dr. Hans Raj Bhardwaj was present on the occasion and had a private Darshan of the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji. In the evening a public function was held where the Mahaswamiji blessed the audience with an Anugraha Bhashanam.

On 22nd evening, the Mahaswamiji travelled from Japada Katte to Srirangapatna where devotees headed by Sri Bhanu Prakash Sharma welcomed Him. The following morning, the Jagadguru had Darshan at the temple of Goddess Nimishamba and the ancient Gangadareshwara temple. The Mahaswamiji then proceeded to the famous temple of Sri Ranganatha where He was received with Poorna Kumbha honours. The Mahaswamiji had Darshan offered silk Vastrams to Lord Ranganatha and Goddess Ranganayaki. The Mahaswamiji then blessed the priests of the temple with Asirmanthrakshata.

The Mahaswamiji reached Mysore by the evening of 23rd June and was given a traditional welcome at the Mysore Royal Palace. The Mahaswamiji was then taken in a silver chariot in a huge procession from the Mysore Palace to Sri Abhinava Shankaralaya, the Sringeri Shankara Math at Mysore housing the birthplace of the 33rd Acharya of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji. The Math houses a separate shrine for the Jagadguru.

On 24th June, the Mahaswamiji performed a special Puja at the shrine of His Parameshthi Guru, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji. Till the present day, there were no Padukas of the Jagadguru at Mysore. This time, Padukas were brought from Sringeri and the Mahaswamiji placed them inside the shrine and worshipped them during the special Puja. The Mahaswamiji then performed the Puna-prathishta Kumbhabhisheka of the Navagraha shrine at the Math. The same evening, a grand public function was held to commemorate the visit of the Mahaswamiji to Mysore. The MLA of Mysore Constituency and the Mayor of the Mysore Corporation attended the function and paid their respects to the Mahaswamiji. A Souvenir was released on the occasion. The Mahaswamiji also released a Kannada book on Jagadguru Sri Vidyaranya titled “Yugapurusha Vidyaranya” authored by Sri H L N Shastri. New editions of Kannada books on on Sringeri, and on Sri Adi Shankaracharya were also released. The Jagadguru blessed the gathering with an Anugraha Bhashanam.

On 25th June, the Jagadguru graced the Saptamatrika Chowdeshwari temple in Mysore on the occasion of the 5th year of the Prathishtha. The Prathishta itself had been performed by the Mahaswamiji in 2005. The Mahaswamiji performed a special Puja to the Saptamatrikas (Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrani and Chamunda) and graced the Poornahuti of the Lalita Homa as part of the Koti Kumkumarchana organized on the occasion at the temple. In the evening, the Mahaswamiji accepting an invitation, graced the National Institute of Engineering and gave an Anugraha Bhashanam addressing the students and staff of the technological institution. The Mahaswamiji also visited Sri Chidambareshwara Swamy temple, blessed the devotees and returned to Abhinava Shankaralaya.

At night, after the Sharada Chandramoulishwara Puja, the Mahaswamiji offered a gold crown and gold Hasta Kavachas for the hands of Goddess Sharada at Mysore and performed a special Puja.

On 26th June, the Mahaswamiji arrived at the Mysore Palace to a traditional welcome. The rulers of the erstwhile Mysore kingdom have been ardent disciples of the Sringeri Jagadgurus. In keeping with the tradition, the royal scion of Mysore, Sri Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar received the Mahaswamiji with great reverence at the entrance of the Palace and led the Mahaswamiji into the Palace. The royal couple then performed Pada Puja and Bhiksha Vandanam to the Mahaswamiji. In the evening, the Mahaswamiji had Darshan at Prasanna Mahaganapati temple and Sri Rama temple. On 27th June morning, the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji went to Chamundi Hills and had Darshan of Goddess Chamundeshwari and Lord Mahabaleshwara.

The Mahaswamiji started from Mysore on 27th June and reached Hassan. The following day, the Mahaswamiji blessed the devotees at Hassan with an Anugraha Bhashanam and graced the Poornahuti of a Rudra Homa that was performed to mark the occasion of the Mahaswamiji’s visit and the 60th year of the Mahaswamiji. The Mahaswamiji started from Hassan and returned to Sringeri by the evening of 28th June.
