Sharada Suvarna-Ratha Samarpana Padyavali

॥श्रीशारदास्वर्णरथसमर्पणापद्यावलिः॥

Following is the stotra composed by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji on the occasion of the dedication of Golden Chariot to Goddess Sharadamba in 2001. The stotra is recited daily during the nine days of the Navaratri festival before commencing the Suvarna Dindi-Utsavam.

श्रीशङ्करगुरुत्तंससमर्चितपदाम्बुजे ।
शारदे रथमारोह सौवर्णे सर्वमङ्गले ॥१॥

O’ Sharada! At whose lotus feet the greatest of Acharyas offered worship, O’ Sarvamangala! Mount the golden chariot!

स्वर्गादिसुखसन्दात्रि स्वर्णसच्छायविग्रहे ।
स्वर्णस्यन्दनमारुह्य सर्वान् पालय शारदे ॥२॥

O’ Sharada of golden complexion, who confers blessings such as heavenly abode, mount the golden chariot and protect all!

भक्तप्रिये भद्रदात्रि भक्तानामभयप्रदे ।
भक्त्यासमर्पयाम्येनं जाम्बूनदमयं रथम् ॥३॥

With devotion that pleases her, I submit this golden chariot to the goddess who showers welfare and confers fearlessness on her devotees.

हिरण्यगर्भवामाङ्गि हरिदश्वादिसेविते ।
हिरण्यरथमारोह हिताय जगतां सदा ॥४॥

O’ consort of Brahma! Worshipped by Aditya and other celestials, mount the golden chariot for the well-being of the world at all times.

कनकाभरणैर्युक्ते कविताविभवप्रदे ।
कार्तस्वरमयं मातः आरोह रथमुत्तमम् ॥५॥

O’ Mother! Bedecked by jewels of gold, giver of poetic skills and beatitude, ascend this excellent chariot made of gold.
