The construction of the grand Raja-gopuram at the entrance of the Sri Math premises completed stage one on Wednesday, the 26th of September 2012 marking the completion of the granite stone base of the one hundred and thirty two feet tall Rajagopuram, with ornate façade carvings.

Owing to aging and structural weakness, a new shrine will be built for Sri Torana Ganapati with the blessings and under the guidance of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji. The Samkalpa and other rituals were performed today the 26th of September 2012.

At Shringeri Math, Pune branch, the 62nd varadhanti of the Jagadguru was celebrated with performance of many a homam, concluding with Sri Rudra Homan. Eleven Vidyarthis (students) from Alandi veda patashala recited laghu Rudram. In Sharadamba sannidhi, 62 oil lamps were lit (see gallery below). All devotees were served mahaprasadam.

Pune Sringeri Shankara Math was engaged in Annadanam and Prasada Viniyoga at three ancient shrines in Tanjavur District. Details are as follows.

Today, the 26th of April 2012, on the auspicious occasion of Shankara Jayanti, the Vaishakha Shukla Panchami, which marks the day of the holy descent of the Jagadguru nearly 1300 years back, the entire documentary film “Kalady – the triumph of faith over time” is published online for the benefit the devotees.

The Jagadguru reached Mandya the same evening, had Darshan at the Ganapati temple and inaugurated “Guru Nivas” constructed by devotees for His stay. The following day, the Jagadguru had Darshan at the Shankara Math in Mandya and graced the Brahmana Sangha.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji reached Bangalore on the evening of 28th February to a massive welcome. Dignitaries including the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Justices of the High Court and officials of Bangalore Metropolitan Corporation joined thousands of devotees in welcoming the Jagadguru.

On the morning of 27th February, the Jagadguru proceeded from Belur to Haradanahalli, where He performed the Prathishta Kumbhabhisheka of Deveshwara temple.

Reaching Belur at about 11 AM on 26th February 2012, the Jagadguru performed the Prathishta Kumbhabhisheka of Goddess Sharada and Adi Shankaracharya at the Sringeri Shankara Math at Belur.

Suraikayur is a small village near Ayyampet raliway station in Thanjavur District. During the Tamil month of Aavani (Shravana) in solar calendar, for 3 days, Surya Pooja is done; the Sun’s rays fall on the lingam during all these days. With the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Pune branch of Sringeri Math, offered annadanam on all the three days of Surya pooja to all the devotees at Suraikayur.

The audio CD “Guru Suvarnamala” containing hymns on Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji composed by His disciple, Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji was released by Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji during Kalady centenary celebrations. The hymns have been sung melodiously by the Sringeri Sisters.

This VCD contains performing of Sandhya Vandanam in Telugu Paddati and Samidhadanam
