Gita Gyana Yagna

गीताशास्त्रमिदं पुण्यं यःपठेत् प्रयतःप्रमान्
विष्णोःपदमवाप्नोति भयशोकादि वर्जितः

The teaching of Srimad Bhagavad Gita by Bhagavan Sri Krishna Paramatma is the essence of the Upanishads. The greatness of the 700 verse text is that the knowledge contained herein is available and applicable to all mankind at all times.

In order to propagate the Dharmic and Vedantic message of the Gita, on the 56th Vardhanti day (in 2006) of His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham commenced the Gita Gyana Yajna scheme.

Under the Scheme of this Yajna, any individual may recite by memory all the 700 verses of the 18 Chapters of the Gita, and obtain a certificate with a reward of Rs.21,000 and be a recipient of the Benign Blessings of the Jagadguru.

Many thousands have participated in the Yajna, recited the entire Gita and have received the reward and the blessings of the Jagadguru.
