The 64th Vardhanti mahotsava celebrations commenced with Sahasra Modaka Homam in which 1008 oblations of Modaka were offered to Lord Vighneshwara through sanctified sacrificial fire at the Yagashala in the precincts of the Math.
The 64th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will be celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Shashthi, falling on 5th April this year. Maharudra and Shatachandi yaga will be performed on the occasion.
On the evening of 8th February 2014, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji started from Sringeri towards Hariharapura of Hassan District and was welcomed at Hariharapura with great reverence by devotees led by Sri H S Subramanya.
On 13th February 2014, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji graced Sharada Dhanvantri Charitable Hospital for the opening ceremony of Sri Bharati Tirtha Dialysis centre.
Sharadamba Maharathotsava took place on 18th February 2014. The Utsava Murti of Goddess Sharada was taken along the main streets of Sringeri in a decorated Ratha. The Jagadguru led the procession amidst chants of the Vedas and bhajans.
The tour programme of the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji in Northern Karnataka has been slightly changed and below is the updated tour programme.
On Jan 3, 2012 the Jagadguru visited Warangal, the birthplace of Sri Vidyaranyaswami, the Jagadguru of Sringeri about 600 years ago. The Jagadguru spoke about the life of Sri Vidyaranyaswami and the sacred bond between Warangal and Sringeri. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, will undertake short Yatras inside Karnataka and in Kerala in the months of February and March. The tour program is available for download.
Arudra Homa was performed by the Adhyapakas and Vidyarthis of Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala on 30th December 2013 near the Kalabhairava Swamy temple in Narasimhavanam.
On 25th December 2013, Kalabhairavashtami was observed at Sringeri with Bhagavan Sri Kalabhairava being worshipped in accordance with the Vedic traditions of Shodashopachara. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri SriBharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performed abhishekam to Bhagavan Sri Kalabhairava with pure water, milk, and Panchamrita to the sonorous chanting of Sri Rudram and other mantras by the Panditas of the Math as well as students of Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala. Later in the evening, Deepotsava was celebrated at the shrine in the august presence of the Jagadguru.
