In Maharashtra, especially in Pune, the muhurta for marriages is usually selected only after completion of Chaturmasya (from mid-July to mid-November). Subsequent to this, Tulsi Vivaham is performed on the dwadashi tithi (12th day of waxing moon) before Sharad Poornima (Kartika Poornima).

In Pune Sringeri Math, devotees of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra and Tamilnadu congregate and celebrate the marriage ceremony of Tulsi plant on the auspicious day of Kartika Dwadashi. This practice has been contrinuing every year for the past 12 years.
