Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam Observes Dakshinayana Punyakala at Sringeri
Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam observed the Dakshinayana Punyakala at Sringeri on July 17, 2026. The Dakshinayana occurs when Surya moves from the Mithuna Rashi to the Karkataka Rashi. The Dharma Shastras proclaim the last twelve hours preceding this change of zodiac to be auspicious and hence the term Dakshinayana Punya Kala. Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam performed an elaborate Ganga Puja during the Dakshinayana Punya Kala on the northern banks of the Tunga River.
Thereafter, the Poornahuti of the Surya Homa was performed in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.
Later, Maha Mangalarati was offered at the shrine of Goddess Sri Sharadamba in the divine presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam. Subsequently, Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam had darshan of all the temples within the Peetham premises, witnessing the Mangalarati offered at each shrine. Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam then proceeded to the Adhishtana Mandirams and witnessed the Aarati performed at the Adhishtanams of His revered Guru Parampara.
