The 76th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peethadheeshwara, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, was reverentially observed at Sringeri on March 24, 2026 (Chaitra Shukla Shashthi).

On this sacred occasion, a large number of devotees gathered at Sringeri to offer their pranams and seek the divine blessings of the Jagadgurus.

Vedic Rituals and Yajnas

As part of the Vardhanti Mahotsava, several sacred Vedic rituals and yajnas were conducted. The celebrations commenced with the Sahasra Modaka Ganapati Homa along with the Mahasankalpa for Atirudra Purashcharana near the Sri Vidyashankara Temple. Simultaneously, the Mahasankalpa for Sahasrachandika Mahayaga was undertaken at the Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Sabha Bhavana. 

The Rik Samhita Yaga Sankalpa was performed at Narasimha Vana, marking the beginning of important Vedic yajnas as part of the Mahotsava.

Special Pujas and Aradhana

During the Mahotsava, Aradhana of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji was observed with special puja performed by Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam.

Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam also performed a special puja to Lord Sri Malahanikareshwara at Ishwaragiri and later offered special worship to Goddess Sri Sharadamba on the Vardhanti day. 

Vardhanti Day Observances

On the Vardhanti day, Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam blessed devotees with Ahnika Darshanam at Guru Nivas in the early morning hours.

This was followed by the Poornahuti of Sahasrachandika Mahayaga. In the evening, devotees participated in Samoohika Vandanam offered to Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam.

Thereafter, Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam blessed the assembled devotees with His Anugraha Bhashanam. 

Poornahuti of Yajnas

As part of the Mahotsava, the Poornahuti of Sahasra Narikela Ganapati Homa was performed at the Jagadguru Sri Nrisimha Bharati Yaga Mandapa.

Subsequently, the Rik Samhita Yaga Poornahuti was conducted at Narasimha Vana, followed by the Poornahuti of Atirudra Mahayaga near the Sri Vidyashankara Temple, marking the ceremonial conclusion of the major yajnas. 

The Vardhanti Mahotsava was conducted with great devotion and spiritual grandeur, reflecting the deep Guru Bhakti of the devotees. The occasion served as a reminder of the importance of devotion to the Guru, which, as stated in the Shastras, leads to ultimate welfare (Shreyas) through the grace of the Guru.

In the run-up to the auspicious occasion of the 76th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, various groups of aastikas have been performing Dharmic Anushthanas at Sringeri for Loka Kalyana. On 20th March, Aastikas of the Karada Brahmana Samaja assembled from different parts of Karnataka. The men undertook Gayatri Anushtana, collectively exceeding one lakh repetitions, while the women performed the sacred Saptashloki Parayana at Guru Nivasa.

On the occasion of the forthcoming 76th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, groups of Aastikas have been undertaking various Dharmic Anushthanas at Sringeri for Loka Kalyana. On 22nd March, over 100 Aastikas from different parts of Vijayapura district assembled at Guru Nivasa and performed Gayatri Anushthana, collectively completing over one lakh japa. The assembled Aastikas were blessed by Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji.

Poornahuti of the Sahasra Narikela Ganapati Homa, conducted for Loka Kalyana as part of the 76th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peethadhishwara Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, was performed earlier today in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam. Sri Bandi Sanjay Kumar ji, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India and National General Secretary, BJP, was present on this sacred occasion.

76th Vardhanti Mahotsava - Vishesha Puja to Sri Bhavani Malahanikareshwara Swami by Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peethadhishwara Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji at Ishwara Giri, Sringeri.

76th Vardhanti Mahotsava: Astikas from all parts of the globe congregated in large numbers at Narasimha Vana, Sringeri, to receive the rare and blessed Ahnika Darshana of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peethadheeshwara Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, and thereafter had the sacred Darshana of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sannidhanam.

In times marked by unrest, conflict, and deep uncertainty, our tradition turns us inward - to the unfailing refuge of the Divine Mother - Daily Chanting of Durga Saptashloki Ordained by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Recognising the challenges faced today globally—by society, the nations, and individuals—Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya directs all Astikas to chant the Durga Saptashloki daily for a minimum of 3 times. This sacred essence of the Durga Saptashati is a powerful prayer for protection, the dispelling of adversities, and inner steadiness.

On March 27, 2026, Sri Mahasannidhanam performed a special Rama Navami Puja. After the Mahamangalarati, Sri Mahasannidhanam recited the Rama Janana Sarga from the Bala Kaanda of Srimad Valmiki Ramayanam. Earlier in the day, Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam performed a special Puja at Sri Kodanda Rama Swami temple inside the Math premises. 

The following day, the Valmiki Ramayana Parayana that had commenced on the Yugadi day (Chaitra Shukla Pratipat) was completed with the recitation of Sri Rama Pattabhisheka Sarga by Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.

Glimpse: Srimad Valmiki Ramayanam – Pattabhisheka Sarga Parayana by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji at Sringeri, following Sri Rama Navami.

The Jayanti and Aradhana of the 33rd Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji, was observed at Sringeri on March 14 and March 20, 2026.

On the 168th Jayanti day (Phalguna Krishna Ekadashi), a special Jayanti Sabha was organised in front of the Adhishthanam shrine of the Acharya by Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala, with scholars and students speaking in Sanskrit and Kannada recounting the life and times of the revered Acharya. 

Thereafter, Shatarudrabhisheka took place at the Adhishthanam shrine. The Mahamangalarati took place in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam. 

Subsequently, a special puja to the Padukas of the 33rd Acharya was performed, and Mangalarati was performed in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam at Sri Vidyaranya Veda Mahasabha, Tirupati.

In the evening, Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam delivered an Anugraha Bhashanam, blessing all the assembled devotees and recounting the Jeevana Charitra of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji during the Jayanti Sabha at Tirupati.

At Sringeri, later that night, Sri Mahasannidhanam offered a special puja along with Rudra Krama Parayana at the Adhishthanam of His Parameshthi Guru.

On March 20, (Chaitra Shukla Dviteeya), commemorating the 114rd Aradhana of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji, a special Aradhana Puja was performed by Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam. At night, Sri Mahasannidhanam offered a special worship with Rudra Kramarchana at the Adhishtanam of His Parameshthi Guru. Sri Sannidhanam also had Darshan and was present till the Mahamangalarati. Ashtavadhana Seva took place, following which Stotras composed by Sri Mahasannidhanam on the great Acharya were chanted.
