With the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal, the Kumbhabhishekam Celebrations at the new temple complex at Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation at Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA was performed successfully.
Set in a sylvan ambience in Stroudsburg, the temple houses shrines for Goddess Sharada, Mahaganapati, Sri Adi Shankara, Lord Chandramoulishwara, Goddess Bhavani, Sri Subrahmanya, Sri Krishna, Sri Veda Vyasa, Sri Anjaneya and the Navagrahas. The Kumbhabhishekam Celebrations began on July 12th and the Prathistha-Kumbhabhishekam was conducted on July 14th. On both days, the Jagadguru’s Anugraha Sandesha was beamed live from Sringeri to Stroudsburg.
The Jagadguru recalled that Goddess Sharada had in a boon to Sri Adi Shankaracharya said that She would grace all those who come to a shrine established for her. The Jagadguru called for sustained devotion to fulfil life’s purpose and blessed the devotees.
A large contingent from India including 175 Ritwiks was led by Sringeri Math Administrator, Sri V R Gowrishankar.
As part of the Celebrations, the Ritwiks performed Atirudra Mahayaga, Koti Kumkum archana in front of Goddess Sharada’s shrine and a Shatachandi Mahayaga. Chaturveda Sarva shakha Parayana also took place. On July 27th, the Celebrations came to a glorious end with the Poornahuti of the Atirudra Mahayaga prior to which the Jagadguru commended the efforts of all with an Anugraha Sandesha from Sringeri. On the concluding day, Chairman of SVBF, Dr. Yegnasubramanian was honoured with the title, Dharma Raksha Dhurina by Sri Gowrishankar on behalf of all Ritwiks.
