The Jagadguru performed the Kumbhabhisheka at the Sringeri Shankara Math in Girinagar on 12th April 2007. The Girinagar branch of the Peetham was founded about a decade ago with the installation of Goddess Sharada temple on 24th February 1995. After the Brahma Kalasa abhisheka, the Jagadguru blessed the gathering with an Anugraha Bhashana stressing the importance of Jnana. The Lord has said in the Bhagavad Gita “nahi jnaanena sadrusham pavitram iha vidyate” – There exists nothing as pure and exalted as knowledge.

If we pose the question “What must be achieved in one’s life?”, the answer could be many – wealth, authority, fame etc. However there could be no better answer to this question than “It is knowledge that must be achieved”. Accumulation of wealth, attainment of power and fame only lead to sorrow, because even after accumulation, one has to strive to safeguard the wealth or position. Only knowledge will result in the fulfilment of one’s life.
