Mahashivaratri was observed at Sringeri by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam on March 4, 2019. During the day, Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam offered worship at the ancient temple of Sri Malahanikareshwara at around 11:30 AM on Mahashivaratri day. Sri Mahasannidhanam first worshipped Sri Stambha Ganapati, and then performed a special Puja to Lord Malahanikareshwara with Phala-Panchamrita Abhisheka and Rudrabhisheka. There after Sri Mahasannidhanam performed a special Puja to Goddess Bhavani.

In the evening, Sri Mahasannidhanam performed the elaborate first Yaama Puja of the Chaturyaama Mahashivaratri Puja to Lord Chandramoulishwara in Gurunivas. The Guru Nivas hall was filled with devotees from various parts of the country, and from abroad. Sri Sannidhanam performed the Chandramoulishwara Puja during the second Yaama of the auspicious Mahashivaratri. Sri Sannidhanam continued to worship during the third and fourth Yaamas as well. The Chaturyaama Pujas concluded on the next day (March 5) by around 7:30 AM with Sri Sannidhanam performing the Mahamangalarti in the divine presence of Sri Mahasannidhanam.

The Poornahuti of the Maharudra Yaga, that had commenced on March 2, 2019, took place on 5th March 2019 at noon in the divine presence of Sri Mahasannidhanam. On March 6, the Ubhaya Jagadgurus arrived at the Malahanikareshwara Swamy temple for the commencement of the Malahanikareshwara Rathotsava related festivities. The Utsava Murti of the Lord was taken in a procession and placed in the grand Ratha. Sri Malahanikareshwara Rathotsava then took place with Sri Sannidhanam leading the procession.

On March 7, the Sandhaana utsava was celebrated in Sri Sharadamba temple. The Utsava Murti of Lord Malahanikareshwara and Goddess Bhavani were brought ceremoniously to the Sharadamba temple for this Utsava. In the divine presence of Sri Sannidhanam, the priests enacted a humorous dialogue between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati followed by Mahamangalarati and Ashtavadhana Seva. Teppotsava of Sri Malahanikareshwara Swami and Sri Bhavani Amba was celebrated in the evening of March 8.
