The annual Teppotsava (float festival) of Sri Vidyashankara Swami was conducted a day after the grand Rathotsava. This year, on account of the Tungabhadra Pushkara Mahotsava, the Teppotsava was also made an integral part of the 12 day long celebrations.
Late in the evening, in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, the Utsava Murti of Swami Sri Vidyashankara was placed on the Teppa (float), and reverentially ferried to and across the two banks of the Tungabhadra river.
Upon reaching the southern bank, adjoining Sri Narasimhavanam, Maha-Mangala-Aratrika to Sri Vidyashankara Swami was performed. The Jagadguru had darshan of the Utsava Murti of Sri Vidyashankara and thence, the Teppa was ferried back to the Northern bank.
Earlier, a ceremonious Aratrika of Tungabhadra Devi was performed on the northern bank.
