The Mahaswamiji started from Shoranur and arrived at the Sri Seetarama Swami temple, Punkunnam, Thrissur and had Darshan. The Mahaswamiji dedicated the newly constructed “Chuttambalam and Namskara Mandapam” and blessed the audience with an Anugraha Bhashanam.

On May 12th, the Mahaswamiji was received at the Vadakkunnathan temple at Thrissur with Poornakumbha Swagatam. The Mahaswamiji had Darshan of the Lord, to whom Aryamba and Shivaguru had prayed for progeny and had been blessed with the birth of Sri Shankara.

The Mahaswamiji then graced the Thekke Madhom and Vadakke Brahmaswom Madhom in Thrissur. Sri Brahmananda Bhooti Swamiyar of the Thekke Madhom and the Vidyarthis of the Veda Pathasala at the Brahmaswom Madhom received the Mahaswamigal with Veda chanting.At the Thekke Madhom, Sri Brahmananda Bhuti Swamigal offered Padapooja to the Mahaswamiji and received blessings.

Subsequently the Mahaswamiji walked towards the Pathasala of the Brahmaswom Madhom where Brahmasri Narayanan Namboodiri delivered a welcome speech in Sanskrit. Welcoming the Mahaswamiji to the Pathasala of Vadakke Madom, he recalled the close affiliation the Madhoms, established by the direct disciples of Adi Shankaracharya, with Sringeri Sharada Peetham over the centuries. He also sought the continued support and blessings of the Mahaswamiji for the conduct of the lessons in Rig, Yajur and Sama Veda being taught in accordance to the Namboodiri tradition. At the instance of the Mahaswamiji, the Vidyarthis chanted the Saraswati Sooktam.

In His Anugraha Bhashanam, the Mahaswamiji said that it is the obligatory duty of a Brahmana to learn the Vedas right after the performance of Upanayanam. The Mahaswamiji pointed out that the very word “Math” in Sanskrit refers to a place where students and teachers reside and and the Vedas are taught and chanted. Expressing His happiness over the smooth running of the Pathasala, the Mahaswamiji blessed the Vidyarthis and scholars. The Mahaswamiji then returned to Kalady by evening the same day.
