The 33rd Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sringeri, Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji, played a decisive and historic role in rediscovering the sacred Adhishthana of the great saint Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra.
During a Vijaya Yatra, divine intuition guided the Jagadguru to the quiet village of Nerur near Karur in Tamil Nadu. There, He identified the Jeeva Samadhi of Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra - an exalted Mahayogi whose resting place had remained largely unrecognized for nearly a century.
This rediscovery is of profound significance. Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra, revered as a saint of extraordinary tapas and jnana, was also a composer par excellence - his kritis such as Manasa Sancharare continue to inspire devotees and musicians alike.
By bringing the Adhishthana to the attention of the world, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji ensured that generations to come could pay homage at this sacred site, deepening collective devotion and restoring a vital link in the lineage of Indian spiritual heritage.
Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahawamigal performed Bhoomi Pooja for a New Math and Temple in 2012. The Mahakumbhabhisheka was performed by Ubhaya Jagadgurus of Sringeri Sharada Peetham in 2017 on Vaishakha Shukhla Dwadasi.
With the Divine Blessings of Ubhaya Jagadgurus of Sringeri and Jaganmata Sharadamba, regular pujas and special functions are being conducted in the Math premises and in the divine sannidhis of the deities.
