From time immemorial, in our sacred land, worship of the Divine Mother has been performed with steadfast devotion. Devas, Rishis, Avataras, scholars, poets, kings, and common people alike have offered their worship to the Mother and, by Her grace, attained their cherished desires. In the Mahabharata, at the very commencement of the Kurukshetra war, Bhagavan Sri Krishna Himself instructed Arjuna that in order to be victorious, he must first secure the blessings of the Divine Mother. Accordingly, Arjuna performed penance to Sri Durga Parameshwari and received the boon of victory from the Jaganmata.
Jagadguru Adi Shankarabhagavatpadacharya, besides composing many wondrous hymns in praise of the Divine Mother, consecrated Sri Sharadamba as the presiding Deity of the Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham, established for the eternal propagation of Dharma.
Every year, with deep devotion and grandeur, the entire Sanatana community celebrates the sacred festival of Sri Sharada Sharannavaratri and offers worship to the Mother.
In the present times, when our State, Nation, Society, and Dharma are facing numerous challenges, and when devotees too are beset with personal difficulties, Jagadguru Mahaswamiji, with the resolve that all such afflictions be removed and that devotees attain the highest well-being in every respect, has ordained that during this year’s Navaratri Mahotsava—from Padya (22-09-2025) to Vijayadashami (02-10-2025)— all Astikas should daily chant at least 108 repetitions of the Durga Saptashloki. This sacred hymn of seven verses, drawn from the Markandeya Purana and embodying the essence of the supremely glorious Durga Saptashati, is assured to dispel all calamities and usher in all auspiciousness.
Therefore, all devotees are earnestly urged to participate in this observance and be blessed by performing the daily recitation as instructed.
For the benefit of devotees, the chanting of these verses in the divine voice of Jagadguru Mahaswamiji is being made available, along with texts in multiple languages, to guide and support daily recitation.

It is well known that an inseparable and sacred bond exists between the temple of Sri Rishyashrungeshwara and the Sri Sharada Peetham at Sringeri. Revered as the Deity of Rain, Sri Rishyashrungeshwara is fervently worshipped during times of drought, and through such prayers, people have been blessed with timely rains and prosperity.
Around a hundred years ago, the region of Kigga faced severe tribulations and hardships. In response, the devout residents earnestly prayed to the then 34th Jagadguru of the Sharada Peetham, Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, a Jivanmukta and an unparalleled Tapasvi. Moved by their prayers, the Jagadguru graciously directed that the consecration of Sri Shantamma be performed to the left of Sri Rishyashrungeshwara Swami, and that She be duly worshipped. His Holiness performed the Maha Kumbhabhishekam with His Lotus hands. Thereafter, the region witnessed the alleviation of all its afflictions.
Now, as the centenary of the consecration of Sri Shantamma is being observed, With the blessings of Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, Jagadguru Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam will be performing the Brahma Kalashabhishekam to Sri Rishyashrungeshwara Swami and Sri Shantamma.
All aastikas are invited to participate in this sacred occasion and receive Guru Devata Anugraha.

Today we are the followers of Sanatana Dharma only because of the relentless efforts of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya, the incarnation of Lord Paramashiva. Twelve centuries ago, the great Acharya spread the Upanishadic import of Advaita touring all over the country. With great foresight, Sri Adi Shankaracharya established four Amnaya Peethams in the four directions of India. Among these, the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham established at Sringeri has been adorned by an unbroken succession of illustrious Gurus right from Sri Adi Shankaracharya's direct disciple, Sri Sureshwaracharya. The lives of the Acharyas and their efforts to continue the mission of Sri Adi Shankaracharya are remarkable and unique. By their own conduct and by their discourses, the Acharyas of the Peetham teach Dharma and instill the need for paying gratitude to Sri Adi Shankaracharya among the masses.
This year, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam will celebrate Sri Shankara Jayanti of the Vishwavasu Samvatsara in Sringeri from April 28, 2025 to May 2, 2025. The programme includes Special Poojas at the shrine of Sri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya in the mornings and Pravachanams in the august presence of Jagadguru Mahaswamiji in the evenings. Parayana of the Vedas and Sri Vidyaranya Veda Bhashya will be conducted in the morning and evening on all these days.
As part of the Celebrations, the Veda Poshaka Sabha of the Sringeri Math will conduct a conference of Vedic scholars. This Sabha was commenced 51 years ago by the 35th Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji for the propagation of Vedic knowledge. Since then, students belonging to various Veda Shakhas from all over the country have been participating in the Veda Pareeksha conducted by the Sabha. Successful candidates have been honoured with certificates and cash awards as per the instruction of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji. Such scholars who have passed the exam are invited every year and honoured.
On the Shashti day (May 3, 2025), there will be a Splendid Rathotsava of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The same evening, honours to Vedic scholars and certificates to successful students will be conferred by Jagadguru Mahaswamiji. We request all devotees to participate in this auspicious Shankara Jayanti celebrations and be the recipient of the benign blessings of the Jagadguru.

Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peethadheeshwara Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam is none other than Sri Sharadamba walking in human form on this earth and blessing us all. We have not only heard this statement being made many times in the Anugraha Sandesha of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam but have also experienced it personally.
Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam has compassionately directed and guided the conduct of the Suvarna Bharati Mahotsava commemorating 50 years of Sannyasa Sweekara of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam. We have all been fortunate to participate in this historic Mahotsava and be recipients of His benign blessings showered upon us during various events conducted as part of the Mahotsava over the past 16 months.
The followers of Sanatana dharma have been blessed with Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam’s period of reign – a golden era in the history of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham. The reign is golden not merely because of the various golden dedications in kind at the temples in Sringeri, but more so due to the extraordinary dharma-prachara that we are witnessing. Sri Mahasannidhanam has inspired innumerable devotees to adhere to the dharmic path through His Upadesha and led us in this path by Himself being the supreme example.
The Jagadgurus have now compassionately directed that we must continue the dharmic and social initiatives commenced during the Suvarna Bharati Mahotsava with renewed vigour from the most sacred occasion of Vajrotsava Bharati – the 75th Vardhanti of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam.
Accordingly, dharmic activities conducted across our country and abroad such as Shrauta Maha Sammelan, special Veda and Shastra Sabhas, Purana & Itihasa Parayana, Vedanta camps, Annadana in various Tirtha Kshetras, Baala Bharati program for children, as well as social activities such as free medical camps, health drives and special educational scholarships will become a permanent fixture.
All these will take place under the flagship of Vajrotsava Bharati, a new movement that will feature additional dharmic ventures undertaken as an ongoing mission in line with the principal objective of the Peetham – the sustenance and propagation of Sanatana dharma. On the sacred occasion of the 75th Vardhanti of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, let us all pledge to contribute our might to this movement called Vajrotsava Bharati in every possible manner and make our lives purposeful.
